XMODULE at the Underground Tech Hackathon in Kharkiv
The Underground Tech hackathon took place in Kharkiv, bringing together more than 150 students from universities across Ukraine.
Young teams worked on creating the concept of Ukraine’s first underground industrial park—an innovative space for the development of business, science, and manufacturing.
XMODULE, founded in Kharkiv and known for its expertise in modular construction and underground shelter solutions, joined the hackathon as a mentor within the partner track. The company’s experts shared practical experience and helped participants shape modern approaches to spatial planning and sustainable infrastructure development.
An underground industrial park is next-generation infrastructure capable of transforming Kharkiv’s business climate and becoming a powerful driver of regional recovery. The teams’ concepts envision the creation of a multi-level space that will integrate:
- laboratories and R&D centers
- manufacturing and warehouse facilities
- office areas and logistics hubs
- energy-efficient modular structures
Such solutions can form the foundation for Ukraine’s industrial development and new formats of safe manufacturing.
Over the course of two days, participants developed dozens of architectural, technological, and business solutions. Concepts of eco-friendly projects, energy efficiency systems, logistics schemes, and management models were presented, which will form the basis of the future business model of Kharkiv’s industrial park.

Our mission as entrepreneurs is to support young talents and give them opportunities to implement ideas that change the future,” said Inna Khodak, Head of Marketing at XMODULE and hackathon mentor.
The Underground Tech event became an example of effective collaboration between business, education, and government. The project laid the groundwork for further steps in building the industrial park and attracting investment to the recovering region.
